10J of work done in throwing a stone upwards from the ground. How much energy is given to the stone? What is the potential energy of the stone at it's highest point?Find the height of the stone when the mass of the object is 0.5 kg... Sorry for the longness of the question...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the energy given to the stone is 10 J in form of kinetic energy ! this kinetic energy converts to potential energy slowly as the stone rises high and finally whole of the kinetic energy converts to potential energy when the stone is at the highest point :) therefore potential energy = 10 J for height 10 = mgh h = 10/5 = 2 metres :) let me kknow if you need more clarifications :)
