do you know calculus?
diffrentiate y wrt time
not very much
\[dy/dt=16.d(t^{2} )/dt + d(486)/dt\] \[dy/dt=16.2.t.dt/dt+0\] (as derivative of constant is=0 and dt/dt=1) so\[dy/dt=32t\] now if y is height and t is time then dy/dt is change in height wrt time so it is velocity of falling stone at any time t.
