Why is the mixture of 1M Pb(NO3)2 and 2M NaI cause a light to shine brightly (strong electrolyte) and not dimly? I see that an aq solution is formed which will dissociate, but there is also a solid that forms.

OpenStudy (jfraser):

the Pb and I ions will form a solid that will ppt, but the sodium and nitrate ions are still present. They are spectators in terms of the precipitate, but they're still present in the solution, and will still act like a strong electrolyte
