10 gallons of diesel fuel C16H34 density 0.7g/ml C16H34+O2 -> CO2+H2O How many CO2 kg is produced?

OpenStudy (australopithecus):

Convert gallons to mL Then use ratios to solve for grams of C16H34 x/amount of diesel fuel = 0.7g/mL convert grams to moles Check to see if reaction is balanced (hint it isn't) Balance it then I will tell you how to do the rest

OpenStudy (australopithecus):

Meh... After you balance just divide the moles by the amount of C16H34, then multiply by the amount of CO2 to get the moles of CO2 then just multiple the molecular mass of CO2 by the moles of CO2 to get grams, then convert grams to kg by dividing by 1000

okay ill try it, what answer did you get?

OpenStudy (australopithecus):

I haven't solved it give me a second

OpenStudy (australopithecus):

82.406kg

OpenStudy (australopithecus):

I didnt actually write the solution out rather I just used wolframalpha so it is possible I could have made an error but unlikely

kk

OpenStudy (australopithecus):

if you show your work I can tell you if you performed the calculations correctly
