2^3/2^-2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[\frac{ 2^3 }{ 2^{-2} }\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Wouldn't it be 8/.25

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Do you know these exponent properties? \[ \huge a^{-b} = \frac{1}{a^b} \\ \huge \frac{a^n}{a^m} = a^{n-m}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So you can do this: \[\Large \frac{2^3}{2^{-2}} = \frac{2^3}{\frac{1}{2^2}} = 2^3 2^2 = 2^{3 + 2} = 2^5\]\[\Huge\text{OR}\]\[\Large \frac{2^3}{2^{-2}} = 2^{3 - (-2)} = 2^{3 + 2} = 2^5\]

@micahwood50 Nice.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Is this clear? @ctccbuggs

Parth (parthkohli):

I have a feeling that you're Myin.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes, thanks @micahwood50.
