\[2x + 2ydy/dx = 0 \]
I got \[\int\limits dy dy/dx = \int\limits - 2x \] \[y^2 = -x^2 + C\] the only problem is that I can't take a square root of a negative... am I doing something wrong?

Nope! Looks good! You don't really want to solve this one explicitly for y unless the directions say so. Notice how if you add x^2 to both sides, it's the equation of a circle! :D
lol yea, i had 2 solutions. down for the slope fields. so it's x^2+ y^2 = C?
