If you had a wire large/long/conductive enough, and enough energy to produce a massive current, is it possible to create a giant inductor coiled around the world to change Earth's magnetic field?

Earth's magnetic field isn't understood all that well, but I suppose... why?

Hi, This is very interesting question. Let me propose this scenario ...you have this large-long-conductive wire and you wind it like a solenoid around the earth. No EMF yet..just a giant.. connected... Galvanometer..what would you see? The earth is rotating..on its surface the magnetic field is static...but now you have a huge STATIONARY coil ..relative to the earth's B field.. which is rotating.. what perturbations in the galvanometer would you see?

I have no idea what a galvanometer is, but I was just wondering after thinking about inductance, if it was possible. I'll look into a galvanometer tho and see if I can understand it. I just thought if would be crazy if you could change the rotation of the earth with such a device.

Theoretically you could.!!
