\[\log _{x}8=\frac{ 3 }{ 2 }=\frac{ \log 8 }{ \log x }\] so \[3 \log x= 2 \log 8\] then \[x^3=8^2\] then \[x^3=64\] and then \[x^3=4^3,x=4\]
