well first...what is your definition of a polygon?
i guess regular polygon!
prism?
i thing a cylinder
@deena123 remember that a prism...is a 3 dimensional shape....a polygon is only 2 dimensional
ya ya sorry!
a polygon....is made up of straight lines.....what does a cylinder OR a cone look like on the bottom? straight lines?
Prism
A Circle
circle is not a polygon!
exactly...so since there are no straight lines in a circle...it cannot be a cylinder nor a cone...and @choopers remember that a prism is a 3 dimensional shape.....a polygon will only have 2 dimensions.....the answer is a pyramid...what does the bottom of a pyramid look like?
no a circle bottom of a prism
a triangle
correct....a triangle...straight lines
that's your answer
thanks what about this If the surface area of the rectangular prism is 256 cm2, what is the height?
hmm...well the surface area is calculated by using the formula 2(wh + lw + lh) if we had any numbers we would be able to solve... not too sure on this one
