2 1/2 hours at 60 kilometres per hour how far will i travel at these speeds for these times?

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

if you're going 60 km/h...and traveling for 2.5 hours..... 60 * 2.5 right? that would be how many kilometers you traveled in 2.5 hours

OpenStudy (anonymous):

60 multiply by 2.5?????

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that's 150

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

correct...we want kilometers to be our final answer right? so what is km/h times h? just km...so yes...60 times 2.5

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

and yes that would be how many kilometers you travel in 2.5 hours

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay tnx!

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

no problem :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how about 15 minutes at 40 kph

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is 15 minutes 1/3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so 40 divided by 3

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

ahh see this is different....your going 15/60 hours right? 15 minutes of 60 minutes is 15/60 so you're going 15/60 times 40,.....so what is 40 times 15...divided by 60? thats how many kilometers you travel

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

15 minutes is 1/4 actually

OpenStudy (anonymous):

haha that's wat our teacher told us i think

OpenStudy (anonymous):

15 divided by 60?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that's 25?

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

sorry, my class ended, had to take a midterm lol...no, it is 1/4 times 40...because remember 15 minutes is 1/4 of an hour.... ( or the 15/60 that i put before) same thing...so what is 40 times 1/4? ..do 40 times 1........divided by 4...what do you have?
