How would you go about doing an APA style in-text citation for four authors, two of which have the same name?
*they also have the same first initial
You would put both of the authors in. Just think of two people for the resource you are citing. For example, if there are two names such that both are Amy B. Simmons, you would put Amy B. Simmons, Amy B. Simmons. Remember to follow the rules and not be confused with complexities that arise.
Well I was supposed to put it (last name, first initial., last name, first initial., other authors) so I wasn't sure how to get around typing "Sun, J., Sun, J., " I guess I was just concerned it would look like a typo to my professor. Thanks for responding!
Another rule you can apply is the "et al" notation. Do you know what that is? It is used when there is more than one author. Instead of putting all the authors in the citation, you can put one author's name with "et al" at the end to denote "and others." This is widely used in research, science, and medical articles.
I thought for the first citation you had to list all authors and for all citations following you can use the "et al." I could be wrong though
