why full filled orbital and half filled orbital are most stable than partially filled?
half filled electrons are more stable because they spin being aligned.they resonate and get stabilized.same thing in case of d10 to where he spin get cancelled and they are still more stable tan d5 systems
Less reactive.
What do you mean by partially filled, and half-filled. Those two seem like the same thing. Can you clarify a bit more for me :)
He means half-filled and less than half-filled. Less than half-filled is another term for partially filled.
I think i'm just confused on the terming right now. My brain is so scattered. For instance, a strong-field, d6 vs weak-field d5.?
^ haha you're just taking it to another level, i doubt they're talking about crystal field splitting
you can look into molecular orbital theory and see that partially filled orbitals involve the occupancy of anti bonding orbitals which are destabilize bonds..
im taking another i-chem couse. i think i have a final next week and i cant even focus cuz im so sick haha so im trynna relate things as much as i can so i can do some type of studying instead of just sleep.
damn dude, being sick during tests is terrible. I actually just had a test for 3rd year inorganic chem myself, it was pretty difficult. good luck !
You gonna b on here this wknd? I might have some Q's to discuss with.
yeah il be around, just gimme a shout when
