PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!! Write an equation in standard form for the circle.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A)(x + 3)2 + (y + 6)2 = 16 B)(x – 3)2 + (y + 6)2 = 16 C)(x + 3)2 + (y – 6)2 = 16 D)(x – 3)2 + (y – 6)2 = 16

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Rohangrr can u help me here?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yo!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You want it step wise

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Sort out the x's and y's together and put the number on the right \[x^2 - 2x + y^2 + 6y = -10 \] Complete the squares by taking the number in front of the letter (say -2), take half of it (-1) and square it (-1 squared is 1) Add this number to the left and the right \[x^2 - 2x + 1 + y^2 + 6y + 9 = -10 + 1 + 9 \] \[x^2 - 2x + 1 + y^2 + 6y + 9 = 0 \\ (x - 1)^2 + (y + 3)^2 = 0\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Can u do i now?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i= it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

uhm im confused on where you got all those numbers from the graph???

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lets make it easy

OpenStudy (anonymous):

See the graph

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Now sort out all the X & Y that is covered by the circle

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-4 and -8 if you see the graph

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that was x and y's are - -4 and -2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

now @sh9down45 see the equation above and solve it? isn't it easy now

OpenStudy (anonymous):

good! all the best

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Hope the matter I'd put up helps u

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its helping, thank you im solving the prob now. thank you sooo much!!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no problem

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I got (x + 3)2 + (y + 6)2 = 16 is that right???
