Explain what happens to energy and matter during a chemical reaction. Be sure to use complete sentences.
@Frostbite
Hmmmm... Would I be evil if I said: take everything we have been talking about and combine it into one answer? ;)
yes... jkjkjkjkjk welll can u say something and ill put it in my own words?
I sure can. The mass in a chemical reaction remains constant for a closed system (gasses can diffuse away). Along with this is energy also constant which is reasonable due to Einstein's relation between mass and energy: \[E=mc ^{2}\] This means that energy and mass can't be created nor destroyed. We do however notice from chemical reaction that things can get hot or cold which is a energy type known as heat (Q) indicating that energy CAN be transferred to different compounds as potential and kinetic energy. The consequence that mass is constant means that atoms are transferred to other atoms creating other compounds than we stared with and can therefor expect to find the very atoms we started with (sorry disconnected)
Hope it can help a bit?
