I have one question I need someone to check the answer to.
Explain how color can be classified as both a physical property and as one indication of a chemical change
My Answer: A color is a physical property because it is the visible light that the substance does not absorb, and an indication of a chemical change because a different substance absorbs light at a different wavelength, and therefore a different color of visible light.
@satellite73
It sounds right to me. If I had something to add about chemical change, this would be that some electric species can change the color they absorb in function of their electronic charge. Some ions, as iron Fe, have differents colors : Fe2+ is green while Fe3+ is yellow.
so your saying something like A color is a physical property because it is the visible light that the substance does not absorb, and an indication of a chemical change because a different substance absorbs light at a different wavelength, and therefore a different color of visible light, this would be that some electric species can change the color they absorb in function of their electronic charge.
@MagaliH
Sounds good to me.
the top or bottom one??
