What is the pH of a 2.0 M solution of HClO4?

thomaster (thomaster):

pH = -log[H+] You have 2 moles of H+ So -log(2) = 3.40

thomaster (thomaster):

HClO4 is a strong acid so it dissociates completely

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-log(2) doesn't equal 3.4....it equals -.301

thomaster (thomaster):

wow, 1 year later. But you're right. No idea why I said 3.40 xD Probably entered something wrong in my calc at that time.
