1. Find the mean, median, and mode of the data set. Round to the nearest tenth. Test scores on a math exam: 88, 89, 65, 62, 83, 63, 84, 63, 74, 64, 71, 82, 66, 88, 79, 60, 86, 63, 93, 99, 60, 85 (1 point)mean = 75.8 median = 79.5 mode = 63 mean = 75.8 median = 76.5 mode = 63 mean = 69.5 median = 76.5 mode = 63 mean = 69.5 median = 76.5 mode = 79.5 2. Make a box-and-whisker plot of the data. Average daily temperatures in Tucson, Arizona, in December: 67, 57, 52, 51, 64, 58, 67, 58, 55, 59, 66, 50, 57, 62, 58, 50, 58, 50, 60, 63 (1 point) 3. Find the values of the 30th and 90th percentiles of the data. 129, 113, 200, 100, 105, 132, 100, 176, 146, 152 (1 point)30th percentile = 105 90th percentile = 200 30th percentile = 113 90th percentile = 200 30th percentile = 105 90th percentile = 176 30th percentile = 113 90th percentile = 176 4. What are the mean, variance, and standard deviation of these values? Round to the nearest tenth. 11, 11, 3, 1, 11, 11 (1 point)mean = 8 variance = 2.1 standard deviation = 4.7 mean = 11 variance = 2.1 standard deviation = 4.3 mean = 11 variance = 2.1 standard deviation = 4.3 mean = 8 variance = 18.3 standard deviation = 4.3 5. Mrs. Jones Algebra 2 class scored very well on yesterday’s quiz. With one exception, everyone received an A. Within how many standard deviations of the mean do all the quiz grades fall? 91, 92, 94, 88, 96, 99, 91, 93, 94, 97, 95, 97 (1 point)2 1 3 4 6. According to one study, 61% of the population swallow at least one spider per year in their sleep. Based on this study, what is the probability that exactly 7 of 10 randomly selected people have swallowed at least one spider in their sleep in the last year. (1 point)70% 22% 1% 34% 7. Use the Binomial Theorem to find the binomial expansion of the expression. (d–5)6 (1 point)d6 + 6d5 + 15d4 + 20d3 + 15d2 + 6d + 1 d6 – 6d5 + 15d4 – 20d3 + 15d2 – 6d + 1 d6 + 30d5 + 375d4 + 2,500d3 + 9,375d2 + 18,750d + 15,625 d6 – 30d5 + 375d4 – 2,500d3 + 9,375d2 – 18,750d + 15,625 8. The bar graph shows the rents paid per month for apartments in an urban neighborhood. The curve shows that the rents are normally distributed. Estimate the percent of apartment residents who pay from $600 to $749 per month. (1 point)93% 68% 43% 25% 9. The scores on an exam are normally distributed with a mean of 77 and a standard deviation of 10. What percent of the scores are greater than 87? (1 point)68% 16% 84% 2.5% 10. A grocery store will only accept yellow onions that are at least 3 in. in diameter. A grower has a crop of onions with diameters that are normally distributed with a mean diameter of 3.25 in. and a standard deviation of 0.25 in. What percent of the onions will be accepted by the grocery store? (1 point)34% 97.5% 84% 50%

for 1 put all the numbers in order from least to greatest

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i said i got 1, 2, 5, and 8. thanx tho

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh sorry

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay well i dont know how to explain this but up here is the work mean = [(4x11) + 3 + 1] / 6 = 8.0 variance = [4(11-8)^2 + (3-8)^2 + (1-8)^2] = 86.0 standard deviation = square root of 86 = 9.3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thats number 4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok thanx

OpenStudy (anonymous):

for 6. what is 7/10 times 100

OpenStudy (anonymous):

3. First sort the values 129, 113, 200, 100, 105, 132, 100, 176, 146, 152

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The 30th percentile is the point where 30% of the data is below that value

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So if you have say 100 values, then 30% of that (0.3*100 = 30 values) are below the 30th percentile

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sorry im not responding i left for a minute. thank you your alot of help

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do you understand?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yea im startin to

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do you want me to explain more ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

7. By the binomial theorem, the successive binomial coefficients for a 6th power are 1, 6, 15, 20, 15, 6, 1
