The answer is A. Fermentation does require a sufficient supply of NAD+ to accept electrons to sustain the process. The two types of fermentation, alcohol fermentation and lactic acid fermentation. Both involve glycolysis and reactions that regenerate NAD+ from NADH, differing in the end products. After glycolysis occurs, the product (the glucose) is split into pyruvic acid, no matter which type of fermentation it is.

the appropriate answer is C)....it need not be A) coz both start with pyruvic acid only....1)pyruvate->acetaldehyde->alcohol..... 2)pyruvate->lactic acid by lactate DHase..... both produce NAD+ so that it gives it to glycolysis... and fermetation always yields very less ATP when compared to ur cellular respiration coz it skips the steps in the pay off phase in glycolysis wherein the main production of ATP take place....nearly four molecules of ATP are generated...hope that helps:)
