We'll start by finding the y-intercept like stated above...you make every 'x' in the equation = 0 and see what 'y' equals...so y = 2x² – 8x – 10 becomes y = 2(0)² - 8(0) - 10 y = 0 - 0 - 10 y = - 10 so we now know that the y-intercept is (0,-10) how do you find the x-intercepts...?

Yeah I realized I kind of gave it away doing the y-intercept first lol but to solve for the x-intercepts...you make y = 0 in your equation...and solve for x so you have y = 2x² - 8x - 10 this becomes 2x² - 8x - 10 = 0 So we can factor out a common factor here (2) and this will become x² - 4x - 5 = 0 can you factor that left hand side? what 2 numbers multiply to get -5 AND add to get -4?

Right....so you have \[(x - 5)(x + 1) = 0\] Now you have 2 factors...that make it possible to get 0 so you can split this up into 2 different equations \[x - 5 = 0\] \[x + 1 = 0\] Can you solve for 'x' in each equation...?
