Combining and graphing functions. Grade 12 calc question.
I dont understand this chapter at allllll. Any idea where I canfind resources to review this? My material is terrible.
I was combining functions this chapter, which I still dont get...
Online course so no help available
We would graph things like 1/xsinx
If anyone can point me to a different resource for studying it...I would appreciate that too
Hmm I've never seen a question like this before :( Not sure how much help I could be. It seems that some good solutions show up if you Google the question though.
Ok..I'lltry thanks.
Anyone with learning resources or help question is still open
this question has a lot of things you have to know. Just to keep things simple, tackle this part of the problem. if the rear wheel with a diameter of 26 inches spins once per minute, how far does the bike roll in 1 minute?
to answer, you need to find the circumference = pi * diameter = 3.14*26 inches = 81.68 inches per minute they want this in km/hour, which means you have to change inches/minute to kilometers per hour (almost as bad as furlongs per fortnight)
assuming you can do that conversion, the next problem is the affect of the gears if the front gear has 42 teeth, that means every time you make one full turn, 42 teeth will go by. Meanwhile the back gear has 14 teeth. that means that after 14 teeth of the front gear go by, the back gear goes 14 teeth, or all the way round. The idea is that that when 42 teeth go by on the front gear, the back wheel goes 42/14 revolutions (or turns) = 3 finally, we are told the pedal is turned at 50 revolutions per minute (rpm) that means the front gear turns 50 rpm, and the back gear goes 3 times faster If you put that all together you can figure out the speed of the bike in km/hr
