How many real solutions are there for the equation? x^2 + 9x = -7 A. 2 B. 1 C. 0

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Since it is a quadratic equation, therefore it will have 2 real solutions hence option A 2 is correct. @AntoinetteWillman

OpenStudy (blockcolder):

His conclusion is correct, but the method to get there is not. You should check the discriminant of the equation. If it is positive, then it has 2 real solutions. If it is zero, then it has only one. If it is negative, then it has no real solutions.
