Do all of the elements in the d-block of the periodic table have only two valence electrons?

OpenStudy (aaronq):

nope

OpenStudy (anonymous):

all elements in the d block hv only 2 electrons in the last orbital.(eg:-4s) . But they hv unfilled d orbitals so they hv more valance electrons

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No. d block elements need not necessarily have 2 electrons in there valence shells. The number of electron, and fro that matter protons, vary as we move from left to right in a period. D-block is just used to state that the differentiating electron enters into d-subshell.
