What is the solution to the following rational equation?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[\frac{ 5 }{ x^2+3x+2 }+\frac{ 1 }{ x+2 }=\frac{ 1 }{ 3x+3 }\]

@Hero @ash2326 @jim_thompson5910

hero (hero):

Hint: \(x^2 + 3x + 2 = (x + 2)(x + 1)\) Also \(3x + 3\) factors to \(3(x + 1)\)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so the common denominator would be 3(x+2)(x+1)?

hero (hero):

Yes, you can multiply both sides by that to eliminate the denominator

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so x=-7?
