26°E this is an example of_____
A question that should be asked in geography.
@e.mccormick I understand that on OS we should walk them through answers so that they can figure them out themselves. But for a question like this i don't see any other way to do so without just giving them the answer. Unless they really want to learn what they are asking, they wont remember the answer for future.
There are plenty of references you can give a person in a situation like this. However, you need to know which class it is in to give the correct reference. I can think of three replies to this, all of which are different, two of which are related. By giving references, a person can find the one that applies to their class. However, this is still being asked in the wrong section, which is the point of my original reply.
That is true it is posted in the wrong section, and it annoys me when people do that. Its not hard to find the right section. They will have better chances of finding the answer that way. Anyway, I was just wondering how I could answer these types of questions without just giving them the answer. I want them to interact. If I can walk them through the answer then I personally think the will retain the material better than if I just did their homework for them.
I ask if they have any ideas and use references. For example: Are you taking geography or geology? This seems like a reference to direction in cartography, but to better help it is best to know what you are studying. From there it can lead to discussing it.
Oh ok thanks I like that better.
