how do you find the electronegativity of bonds?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

First you find the electronegativity of each element

OpenStudy (chmvijay):

its already known by chart then next @Harli

OpenStudy (anonymous):

To find the electronegativity of a bond, not an element, you find the difference between the electronegativity of the elements in it. ex: H2O has an electronegativity of 1.4 because 3.5 - 2.1 = 1.4

OpenStudy (chmvijay):

do bonds have elecronegativity ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes. the electronegativity of the bond is the difference between the two elements that form the bond

OpenStudy (chmvijay):

wooo thanks @Harli

OpenStudy (anonymous):

np :)
