These are double displacement reactions. Ions trade partners. Determine the two products that will form when the cations and anions trade partners. Then use solubility rules to determine which of the products, if any, have low solubility. Once you identify the precipitate, write out each species in aqueous solution as the ions that make it up. Look for spectator ions and remove them to get the net ionic equation. Those are the steps. It is easier to follow them if you have a look at an example that has been done, then try to follow a similar pattern.
