Can someone help? Given f(x) and g(x) = f(x) + k, look at the graph below and determine the value of k. k = ______ Graph of two lines. f of x equals 3 x plus 2 and g of x equals 1 over 3 x plus 5

can I just check $g(x) = \frac{1}{3} x + 5$

?

or is it $g(x) = \frac{1}{3x + 5}$

No i think its the other one.

ok... so $\frac{1}{3} x + 5 = 3x + 2 + k$ so $k = -2\frac{2}{3}x + 3$

Thats it?

well if you look at it $3x - 2\frac{2}{3} x = \frac{1}{3} x$ and for the constant term $2 + 3 = 5$ combining them you get g(x)
