Which of these elements is a noble gas? hydrogen (H) barium (Ba) nitrogen (N) krypton (Kr) bromine (Br)
Kr, it is in group 8.
Refer to the periodic table http://ptable.com/ Noble gases are the most right column
Noble gases have full actet which means 8 electrons in their last shell and we know that each Group in periodic table shows how many electrons those elements have in their last shell thus Group 8 elements are noble gases.
@somy @kametri7 In my table, noble gases are in group 18... Group 8 consists of iron (Fe), ruthenium (Ru), osmium (Os) and hassium (Hs).
My bad, group 8a
So Fe would be 8b
You're probably using a different grouping system.
no @thomaster thats not like that group 18 - means group 8 its because of transitions elements that its group 18
This is not modern periodic table
That's Mendeleev's Periodic table
<.< we use this in Russia
Mendeleev was russian !
"Under an international naming convention, the groups are numbered numerically from 1 to 18 from the leftmost column (the alkali metals) to the rightmost column (the noble gases). Previously, they were known by roman numerals"
yep
Russia is outdated :P
Also there was no group for noble gas in original mendeleev's periodic table.
@thomaster i just remembered group 11- 1 12- 2 13- 3 14 - 4 15- 5 16 - 6 17 - 7 18 - 8
actually, 18=8B
@Abhisar please, i know my own history =_=
LOL...when did i said about ur history...i just shared a fact >_<
all transition elements are in B....
S or P block = A D block = B
This was the limitation of mendeleev's period.
So 18 = 8A since it's in the P block
yes....i just got it..@thomaster
please Mendeleev predicted existence of noble gases thus he left one column free .-.
and yeah see @thomaster both periodic tables are same its just yours separates transition elements from the rest of the table thats it
I will post my next reply only if u admit that this is not getting personal....
Because i never meant like that !
.-. i got it i got it chill im just not in the mood so ~_~ sorry i was a bit rude <.< i think umm
No it's ok !
