\(y_1-y_2 = -2-(-2) = -2+2 =0\)
your numerator itself is 0! so what would be the slope ?
so 0/1 automatically is a slope of 0 because of the numerator!
slope = (y2 - y1) / (x2 - x1) (8,-2)...x1 = 8 and y1 = -2 (7,-2)...x2 = 7 and y2 = -2 now we sub slope = (-2 - (-2) / (7 - 8) slope = (-2 + 2) / -1 slope = 0/-1 if the 0 is in the numerator of the fraction, then it is a horizontal line with a slope of 0.

if 0 would have been in the denominator, then it would have been a vertical line with a slope undefined
