OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well, I put Combustion last time and I got it wrong

OpenStudy (joannablackwelder):

Ok. It is combustion, but it is also synthesis.

OpenStudy (joannablackwelder):

Two things reacting to form one product is a synthesis reaction.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What's the difference between the two? they look the same?

OpenStudy (joannablackwelder):

They look just the same in this instance. But one of the reactants of a combustion reaction must be oxygen and one of the products must be heat (exothermic).
