OpenStudy (help!!!!):

Help me approach this by simplifying. Don't know how to get this answer.

OpenStudy (help!!!!):

\[\frac{x^{-2}}{x^{-2}-\left(6x\right)^{-2}}\]

OpenStudy (help!!!!):

The answer is 36/35

OpenStudy (help!!!!):

@robtobey @ganeshie8

OpenStudy (larseighner):

apply the exponent on 6x to each of them.

OpenStudy (help!!!!):

with the -2 exponent?

OpenStudy (larseighner):

Yes. \((6x)^{-2}\) = \(6^{-2}x^{-2}\)

OpenStudy (larseighner):

Then see if you cannot cancel something.

OpenStudy (help!!!!):

never mind I found out a way to solve it

OpenStudy (help!!!!):

What I did was to change \[x^{-2} into x^{1/2}\]

OpenStudy (help!!!!):

but really appreciate the help and effort

OpenStudy (mathmale):

\[x^{-2} into x^{1/2} \] This is not correct. \[x ^{-2}=\frac{ 1 }{ x^2 }\] and \[x ^{1/2 }= \sqrt{x}\]

OpenStudy (help!!!!):

Sorry that's what I meant @mathmale typo
