What element is oxidized in the following reaction? Pb + SO42- + AuCl4- yields PbSO4 + Au + Cl- Pb Au S O I think its Pb :)

Yes, lead. It is easier to get oxidized.
The question has nothing to do with "ease" of oxidation, it's which one is actually getting oxidized. Which reactant loses electrons in becoming the product? It's the lead in any case, but the reasoning is incorrect
