Help with trig problem. Screenshot is attached
are you familiar with vectors?
Just started with them yesterday. I'm not getting the right answer tho
so we have one ship travels a total of 16 miles, and the other travels 36 miles.
This is how I have my equation set up. d^2=(36)^2+(16)^2-2(36)(16)(cos116)=45.6
try cos(224)
wait haha
Thats where I keep messing up how do I get that?
is the answer 48.792?
its been awhile since ive done these so i want to check first then ill explain how i got
I don't know! ;-/ this is my last attempt at this problem lol
ok hold one then
K thanks
i think its just misinterpretting the bearing notation.
when dealing with degree's you start at the north pole and go clockwise. so for S11W i think we should start at north pole and draw an angle around 184 degrees
Ok
im not sure id guess 45.35, but honestly now im confused maybe someone else can help.
No worries thank you for trying!
