why does a solute added to a solvent, raise the boiling point of the solution?

this is because the solute particles lower the solvents vapor pressure, thus requiring a higher temperature to cause boiling. In a bit of a more abstract thought is also because of interaction between molecules. Depending ont he solvent being used or solute.
