Please help me with these questions!! Electrochemistry!

The half-reaction occurring at the anode of an electrochemical reaction is comparable to: a the oxidation portion of a reaction in a redox reaction b the reduction portion of a reaction in a redox reaction c both the oxidation and the reduction portions of the redox reaction, at various times d the unbalanced portion of either side of a redox equation How many electrons should be added to balance the following oxidation half-reaction, H2O2 -> 2 H+ + O2? a None b One c Two d Four

ok to make this more clear do you know which reaction ocurrs on catode and which on anode? whitch is oxidation and which is reduction? after you answer yourself what does "redox" in redox equations stand for :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and oxidation is release of electron(s) and reduction is acceptance of electron(s)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and also for other question: number of electron released is equal to the amount of charge atom released ie H2O2 -> 2 H+ + 2e- + O2

Thanks so much!
