Carla uses a compass and straightedge to construct perpendicular lines. Daryl uses technology to construct perpendicular lines. In your own words, describe how Carla's construction steps will be different from Daryl's construction steps?
http://www.mathsisfun.com/geometry/construct-perponline.html <--- that's how Carla would do it, click on Play button then check how Daryl would do it and notice the differences and write that down
ok, so how would it be different from Daryl though?
well... how would Daryl's use technology to make it? I gather that depends on what technology he uses using a protractor for example is one way using a computer software is another
So the difference is that Daryl's will be more precise?
well... they're both precise just different approach to it
okay... I'm sorry I still don"t really get it.
the way for example I could make a perpendicular line using a computer will be say run MS Paint and then use the Line tool holding the Shift-key draw down a line -- it makes a straight line from top to bottom holding the Shift-key draw sideways a line -- it makes a straight line from left to right so that'd be one way of using software to make a perpendicular line and you can see that differs from Carla's approach
yes
I know that it is different because One person is using a software and the other is just using tools. But that does't seem like a good enough answer.
"\(\bf \text{In your own words}\), describe how Carla's construction steps will be different from Daryl's construction steps? " well, say your mom tell your brother and your sister to make a perpendicular line each and you to observe then if your mom asks you...... what's the difference between your brother and sister's way of making them..... what would you tell her? write that :)
okay! thanks! I think I get it now!
So basically write the steps of how you would do it on paper and how you would do it on the computer right?
yeap
Ok thanks!
Can I ask you another question?
