A and C are the only one's that show multiplication, so that eliminates B and D.

OpenStudy (gokuporter):

ok

OpenStudy (igreen):

The Multiplication property of Equality states that if: \(a = b\) then \(a \cdot c = b \cdot c\).

OpenStudy (gokuporter):

a

OpenStudy (igreen):

Which one looks like that to you?

OpenStudy (igreen):

A says: \(-12 = y \cdot 3\) That has to mean that: \(-12 \cdot n = y \cdot 3 \cdot n\) But it doesn't look like that because -12 is being divided and not multiplied.

OpenStudy (igreen):

C says: \(-12 = y \div 3\) That has to mean that: \(-12 \cdot n = y \div 3 \cdot n\) It also states that: \(-12 \cdot 3 = y \div 3 \cdot 3\), so it is correct.
