molarity is defined as the number of moles of solute (in this case sucrose) per liter of solution. To calculate the moles of sucrose in a given mass of sucrose you have to divide the given mass by the molecular mass. n= mass/MM To find the molarity of that solution you have to divide the number of moles (calculated in the previous sentence) by the volume of solution in liters. molarity= n/V(liters)
