PLEASE HELP. Medals. Question in comments. The table below shows the number of students from different classes of two schools who participated in a sports competition: School A| 25 21 2 22 20 21 20 23 1 School B| 3 2 1 5 4 2 3 4 3
How can you use box plots to compare the median and interquartile range of the data?
if you already had the box plots made, then the longer the box, the bigger the range. and the more to the right the median is, the bigger it is
School A:
School B:
Thanks. I think I understand what to answer now. :)
well you'd want the box plots to be on the same number line, that way they're easier to compare. and \(\Large \boldsymbol{ \rlap{\color{#008AFF}{\hspace{2.5pt}n}\color{#0073FF}{\hspace{0.34pt}o} \hspace{3pt}\color{#005CFF}{p} \color{#0045FF}{\hspace{0.9pt}r} \color{#0017FF}{o} \color{#0200FF}{\hspace{1.7pt}b} \color{#3000FF}{\hspace{1.5pt}l} \color{#4700FF}{\hspace{0.4pt}e} \color{#7500FF}{\hspace{0.9pt}m} \color{#8C00FF}{\hspace{0.5pt}o}~\LARGE\color{#D100FF}{\ddot\smile}}{\hspace{1.5pt} no~p\hspace{0.3pt}r\hspace{0.4pt}o\hspace{1pt}b\hspace{1.5pt}l\hspace{0.4pt}e\hspace{0.4pt}m\hspace{0.4pt}o}}\)
So school B has a larger interquartial range and school A has a bigger mean.
yes
Thanks. ^-^
wait
school a has a bigger interquartile range
and bigger median
Oh okay.
Thank you.
