Why does Al2Cl6 exist and B2Cl6 does not exist ?Covalency in both the cases would be 4 , right ?

This is because Boron is much smaller in size compared to Chlorine. Hence the Cl atoms of one \[BCl _{3}^{}\] would not be able to approach the B atom of another molecule. However, as you may realise this is not the case with Aluminium which is large enough.
