Which of the following statements is true for an exothermic reaction? The products have higher potential energy than the reactants, and the enthalpy change is negative. The products have higher potential energy than the reactants, and the enthalpy change is positive. The products have lower potential energy than the reactants, and the enthalpy change is negative. The products have lower potential energy than the reactants, and the enthalpy change is positive. I am in between C and D i just dont understand the enthalpy change.
@pooja195 could you possibly help eliminate and help me
Hey there! Welcome to openstudy! consider reading the CoC: http://openstudy.com/code-of-conduct Heres a link that will help you get to know the site better: http://openstudy.com/study#/updates/548c04e1e4b0f2fbdc23dd6c
To start with which do you know for a fact that cant be possible answers?
A and B becausethe potential energy of the reactants is higher than the products
yes now with the 2 you have left which can it be?
Im not sure. I know enthalpy is the total heat in a system but I don't cant distinguish it from C and D
