(HELP PLEASE) Isopropyl alcohol (C3H8O) is a common solvent used for cleaning and disinfectant purposes. Its mass spectrum is shown below. Draw the molecular structure of the positively charged fragment that produces the highest peak in the spectrum? Make sure to draw the charge ( ) of the fragment on the the right atom. (The highest peak is 46 m/z)
does this help?: http://www.learningace.com/doc/1505444/e3f3f9f70604cc0cf7ddea5f95497240/lab-07-an-oxidation-reaction-cyclohexanone-to-adipic-acid
If you play around with the number of atoms and molar masses, the only fragment that approaches that number is |dw:1423332361125:dw|
if you look here at the mass spectrum http://webbook.nist.gov/cgi/cbook.cgi?ID=C67630&Mask=200 the highest peak it at 45 m/z, so i think you copied this down wrong.
