I didn't understand
OpenStudy (aaronandyson):
I have been given this formula
Printed Price(1 + rate of sales tax/100) = Price Paid
For discount
Printed Price(1 - rate of discount) (1 + rate of sales tax/100)
OpenStudy (aaronandyson):
@perl
OpenStudy (perl):
How much tax did the shopkeeper pay when he bought it from the wholesaler ?
OpenStudy (perl):
shopkeeper buys from wholesaler
18000 ( 1 - .20 ) = price= 14400
18000(1-.20) ( .08) = tax = 1152
he sold it for
18000( 1- .10) = price = 16200
18000( 1- .10)(.08) = tax = 1296

OpenStudy (perl):
VA = 1296 - 1152
OpenStudy (perl):
the total amount the consumer pays is 16200 + 1296
OpenStudy (perl):
