Consider a grill with the lid closed to be a closed system. The propane provides chemical energy. The propane is ignited to produce heat. The heat provides the thermal energy to cook the food in the grill. Which is true about the energy in this system? A. While some energy is destroyed and some is created, the total amount of energy is conserved. B. While the energy changes form from chemical to thermal, total energy is conserved. C. Chemical energy is destroyed in order to create thermal energy. D. While the energy changes form from chemical to thermal, the amount

i thinks it b or c

OpenStudy (fretje):

I find b to be q good answer, energy changes form, but in a closed system, the total amount of energy is constant.

OpenStudy (fretje):

c sounds also good, but does not make the statement that the energy is conserved, so it is less specific, so maybe, to be safe, since some systems are not conservative, answer c is the best choice.
