find the vector v with the given magnitude and the same direction as u. magnitude: ||v||= 5 direction: u=<3,3> I asked this awhile ago but still didn't understand. Can someone provide a step by step explanation please? Thanks!

OpenStudy (loser66):

\(\vec v \) has the same direction as \(\vec u\) , can you find the unit vector of \(\vec u\)?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

would that be the square root of 18? I know there is another step to solving for it but I don't know it

OpenStudy (loser66):

Hint: unit vector of vector u, namely \(\vec e_u =\dfrac{<3, 3>}{||u||}\)

OpenStudy (loser66):

this vector has the length 1, if ||v|| = 5, just *5 to get \(\vec v\)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so after finding the unit vector I just multiply by 5?

OpenStudy (loser66):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hmm ok
