This is a physics topic but I can tell you that the reflected ray is partially polarized with respect to the surface, as opposed to the unpolarized incident light. If you've ever heard of Brewster's angle, it is the angle at which the polarized light is perfectly transmitted due to the reflection (the polarization is strongest at this angle).
