25 ml of 6.0 M HCL is diluted to 500 ml with water. What is the molarity of the resulting solution?

OpenStudy (rushwr):

What was ur answer and how did u get it ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I know I should use M1 V1 = M2 V2 But I m not sure as to whether I should use 500 ml for V2 or 525 ml

OpenStudy (rushwr):

Let's see So molarity = moles of solute / volume of solution

OpenStudy (rushwr):

first find the no. of moles of solute ! use n=concentration x volume (in litres) Calculate and get the no. of moles

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Lol I dont think we need that for this problem

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I just need to understand if I have to add the volume or not

OpenStudy (rushwr):

nop

Ok thanks !

OpenStudy (rushwr):

anytime. :)
