Can someone check my work? The given diagram shows the gears of a clock. AE = 7 inches, and CD = 5 inches. AC, the length of the chain between the gears is 23 inches. 1.What is the length of BE, to the nearest tenth of an inch? Answer=2 2.What is the length of DE to the nearest tenth of an inch? Answer=23
okay ae is 7 inches d is 5 inches Ac is a length of 23 inches 1 what is a length of be
I got 2 is that correct?
yes that correct cause cd is 5 and ae is 7 so 7 muis 5 is 2
& what about my second answer?
im working on it i have to find a hypothneuse
okay if BD is 23 which we know that cause AC is 2 it a shape of a rectangle but when youre solving a triangle the slanted line is much shorter than BD so to find de so BD is 23 be is 2 so to find the hypothneuese you divide by 23 and 2 which is 11.5 and it say round to the nearest tenth so it be 11.5 it stay the same cause there is no hundredth.
so 2 is 11.5
ok thank you
no problem
Can you help me on another question
sure
As the second hand of the clock rotates the large gear turns 40 degrees. AE = 7 inches, and CD = 5 inches. AC, the length of the chain between the gears is 23 inches. How far does the chain around the circumference of the large gear move to the nearest tenth of an inch?
how do i figure this out?
As the chain of the large gear turns it rotates the small gears. Using the distance calculated in the previous question, calculate the angle that the small gear turns this one also?
wow this question is difficult O_O
does it have a picture in it?
yes the same picture
I have no idea how to do this one sorry :( my head is just not in the right place today
let me invite someone to help you out
