Part A: Identify the coefficients and variables in the expression. (3 points) Part B: How many terms are in the expression, what are they, and how do you know? (4 points) Part C: Which term in the expression shows the total earned from trimming hedges? please help. i will give a medal for the best response!

Jee-wiz this is one wonky question, no wonder you're having trouble with it.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes i know :(

Theoceangirl (the_ocean_girl):

the coefficients are the numbers being multiplied by the variables ;)

Theoceangirl (the_ocean_girl):

the variables are the unknown values (letters)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so the coefficents are just 20 and 9?

Theoceangirl (the_ocean_girl):

yup!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so for part b is there only two terms in the expression? And how do you know if theres only 2? thats what part b is asking lol

Theoceangirl (the_ocean_girl):

lol part b is tripping me up a little but i can help you with part c! another way to phrase part c is which expression will determine the money Cory will earn for trimming hedges. So if Cory earns $9 per hedge, which expression determines how much he will earn for all the hedges?

Theoceangirl (the_ocean_girl):

*which term IN the expression

OpenStudy (anonymous):

9y

Theoceangirl (the_ocean_girl):

there you go!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you so much!

Theoceangirl (the_ocean_girl):

no problem!

Theoceangirl (the_ocean_girl):

and the terms are just 20x and 9y @balooga82

OpenStudy (civicsiscool44):

for part B this is the answer There are 2 terms in this expression which is 9 and 20. $20 is one term and $9 is the second term. The 20 is the number that represents the money that Cory earns for each lawn mowed that is how I know that is one term. The second term which is 9 represents the money earned for every hedge trimmed that is how I know that.
