How do i find the MOLAR MASS of Calcium Sulfate????????

OpenStudy (whpalmer4):

Figure out what the formula is for calcium sulfate, then add up the atomic mass of all of the atoms used to assemble a molecule of calcium sulfate. For example, let's do good old water (H2O) 2 hydrogen atoms @ 1.00794 g/mol 1 oxygen atom @ 15.9994 g/mol molar mass of H2O = 2*1.00794 g/mol + 1*15.9994 g/mol = 18.0153 g/mol

The formula for Calcium Sulfate is CaSO4. Then, its molar mass will be = [Molar mass of Ca] + [Molar mass of S] + [4 X Molar mass of O] = 40.078 g/mol + 32.065 g/mol + 4*[15.9994 g/mol] =40.078 g/mol + 32.065 g/mol + 63.9976 g/mol = 136.1406 g/mol Hope this helps...
